Philadelphia, PA, — The Philadelphia Phillies have dismissed manager Rob Thomson and named Don Mattingly the interim manager through the end of the 2026 season.

After starting 9-19 this season, this ultimately led to him being fired. The Phillies went on a 10-game losing streak, the longest skid since 1999.

It’s worth noting that Thomson leaves Philly as the most winningest manager in franchise history and only the second manager to lead the team to four-straight postseason appearances in franchise history.

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
