Globe Life Field, Arlington, TX — In a rematch of the 2023 World Series, the Arizona Diamondbacks shutout the Texas Rangers 1-0 thanks to a strong performance from D-Backs starter Michael Soroka.
The Diamondbacks would get on the board right away against Ranger’s emergency starter Jakob Junis. Junis started in place of Nathan Eovaldi who was scratched due to left side tightness before his scheduled start.
After Corbin Carroll hit a one-out double in the top of the first inning, Geraldo Perdomo brought him home with an RBI double to put Arizona up 1-0.
Alejandro Osuna singled to left field to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning.
Diamondbacks starter Soroka was brilliant — tossing six and a third shutout innings, while striking out five on his way to earning his fifth win of the season.

The Good: The Diamondbacks pitching was on point — shutting the Rangers out and keeping them off the scoreboard the entire game. It’s worth noting — the Rangers were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and were held to just four hits.
The Bad/The Ugly: The Ranger’s offense was totally off balance and fooled all night — the Rangers managed just 4 hits and were shut out by the D-Backs, with their starter Michael Soroka pitching six and a third shutout innings.
